Mireya Ramos – "Canto" (Weekly Music Roundup)

Singer Mireya Ramos is a founder of Flor de Toloache, the all-female mariachi band based here in New York. But she spent a year of the pandemic in New Zealand, and that’s where she made this song called “Canto.” It’s a reassuring little tune that takes a reggae beat and softens it with a little South Pacific languor. And while Ramos was half a world away from her physical home, she brought some of her musical home with her as the sound of mariachi horns join in this improbable but fun mix of styles. "Canto," the new single by Mireya Ramos is part of our Weekly Music Roundup.
