There were 19 babies born at NYU Langone the night Sandy hit, along with about two dozen in the NICU. 15 of them reunited for their first birthday at the hospital on the 1 year anniversary of Sandy.

There's a great Seinfeld ep about adult friendships: "Male Unbonding" from Season 1. My take: if a friend alienates you after a birth then it wasn't meant to be. It's good to have both friends and acquaintances. We evolve and so does our community of friends.

@BrianLehrer Kids r best way to make new frirends; u join groups bc of kids: baby & me groups, babysitter coops, school parent boards and groups, play dates s, soccer clubs, etc. Singles have fewer opportunities in new neighborhoods.
