Brandon Harris, a visiting assistant professor of film at SUNY Purchase and a contributing editor to Filmmaker magazine, recommends movies to see (and skip) in 2017. 

Brandon mentioned two reboots of note: "Alien: Covenant," (May 19, 2017) and "Blade Runner" (Oct. 6, 2017), and he recommends these indies:
