The National – Guilty Party: Basilica Hudson
Concert film via The National's YouTube channel

Born in Cincinnati but based in Brooklyn for many years, The National is one of the most successful indie rock bands in the world. Every Monday at 5, they’re presenting what they call An Exciting Community Event – usually a live set or archival performance for homebound viewers. But last week, The National surprised their fans by releasing a concert film made back in 2017 at the Basilica Hudson upstate. At a trim 90 minutes, it’s a well-produced look at the band just after the release of their album Sleep Well Beast, which would go on to win the Grammy award for best Alternative Music album. The film is called The National – Guilty Party: Basilica Hudson, and this is the song “Guilty Party.”

The National has posted the concert film of that name on their YouTube channel; if you’re a diehard fan you may have already seen it. If you’re not, well, this film is a fine introduction.
