National Poetry Month 2023: NYC Youth Poet Laureate Stephanie Pacheco

WNYC News | Apr 7, 2023

It's the most literary time of the year at WNYC!

April is National Poetry Month, and WNYC welcomed one of New York City's rising stars in poetry to mark the occasion.

Stephanie Pacheco from The Bronx is 19 years old. She's the newest Youth Poet Laureate for New York City. She joined WNYC's Michael Hill to read her award-winning poem, "This is the Year."

We want to hear your poems throughout April, and we want them to be about "consequences." What do they look like in our collective lives? Send your poetry to wnycpoetry@gmail.com, and keep listening to WNYC. We may read submitted poetry on air.
