Kathryn Joyce, journalist and author of The Child Catchers: Rescue, Trafficking, and the New Gospel of Adoption (Public Affairs, 2013), and Joy Lieberthal, a Korean adult adoptee and clinical social worker specializing in issues related to adoption, talk about the complex emotions at play for all parties involved in open adoptions. Also, birth mothers, adoptees and adoptive parents call in to tell stories of their open adoptions, and how it worked for their families.
