A Magical Love Story Set in Havana, Before and After the Revolution

Director Ben Chace joins us to discuss his new film, “Sin Alas,” one of the first films shot in Cuba since the U.S. relaxed travel restrictions. Inspired by the writings of Jorge Luis Borges, the film tells the story of lost love between a Cuban writer named Luis Vargas and a famous dancer named Isabella Munoz, set against the backdrop of pre-revolutionary Cuba and contemporary Havana.

"Sin Alas" (Without Wings) opens at Metrograph (7 Ludlow Street) on Wednesday, May 4th. It will also be digitally released on iTunes and Amazon on May 4th.

Events: There will be live Q&As following the evening shows at Metrograph on Wednesday, May 4th with Ben Chace, composer Aruán Ortiz, actor Lieter Ledesma and critic Juan Antonio Garcia Borrero; Thursday, May 5th with Ben Chace, Lieter Ledesma and Valerie Forman, Professor of Caribbean Studies at NYU Gallatin and on Monday, May 9th with Ben Chace.
