Gov. Chris Christie Auditions for New Gig: Sports Radio Host
After eight years in the political arena, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is trying his hand at a different ball game. Christie filled in on Monday for longtime host Mike Francesca on WFAN Sports Radio Show. The radio station has confirmed this is Christie's audition to be the next host, as Francesa is expected to retire later this year.
In between the sports analysis, the governor tackled his fair share of curve balls.
New Jersey residents called in to rail against various conflicts in Christie's tenure, including the George Washington Bridgegate scandal and the photos of the governor lounging at Island Beach State Park during the state shutdown last week.
One caller made a derogatory curse about Christie's weight, to which the governor responded by calling the man "a communist."
Someone just called Christie a "fat ass" on @WFAN660.

Christie calls him a "communist."
This radio audition is going well.
The political fervor hit its peak when Christie said he's relieved "we don't have a criminal in the White House like Hillary Clinton." His comment came after a caller chastised Christie for supporting President Donald Trump.
Christie, auditioning 4 sports radio gig, gets into it with liberal constituent, says he doesn't "matter." Then calls Hillary a "criminal."

Christie's appearance on the show followed the release of the first poll since Christie was photographed at the beach last week. His approval rating held steady since a poll last month from Quinnipiac University put him at a dismal 15 percent.
The Monmouth University Poll released Monday polled 800 residents by phone and was conducted July 6th through July 9th. The most-used words by New Jersey residents to describe their reactions to the beach photos included disgusted, angry and outraged.
