#3816: New Releases, December 2015 Edition

Specially aged for the holidays, it’s the December 2015 new releases program! Sample cross-cultural works of exquisite beauty by Ablaye Cissoko & Constantinople Ensemble. Theirs is a Canadian-Senegalese-Iranian collaboration with kora, setar, percussion, and viola da gamba in the mix. Then, listen to the Iranian-born vocalist Katayoun Goudarzi and North Indian sitar master Shujaat Husain Khan, in their fifth collaboration, setting words of the Persian poet Rumi.

There's also music from the film score to The Revenant, in part a collaboration between composers Ryuichi Sakamoto, Alva Noto, and Bryce Dessner. Plus, hear music from the Philadelphia-based percussive trio called Square Peg Round Hole, and music from the Danish sax player Mette Henriette. And more.
