The New Chemical in Your Cookware that's as Toxic as Teflon
DuPont introduced a new chemical called “GenX” in 2009 to replace the toxic Teflon chemical, PFOA or "C8." In "The Teflon Toxin," a three-part series forThe Intercept, reporter Sharon Lerner reveals that "GenX" causes many of the same deadly health problems as PFOA, including changes in immune responses and cholesterol levels, weight gain, reproductive problems and cancer. She also investigated DuPont's attempts to cover up the findings.
