Geographer and writer Joshua Jelly-Schapiro joins to discuss his new book, Names of New York: Discovering The City's Past, Present, And Future Through Its Place-Names. He explores the power of names, and chronicles how and why the city's early residents, from the Lenape, to the Dutch and the British, chose the names they did. He also looks at how generations of immigrants made their mark and continue to shape New York's identity.
