Cheering on NFL Teams for Less Than Minimum Wage
The Brian Lehrer Show | Sep 11, 2015
Cheerleaders from five NFL teams sued their teams last year for unfair pay and degrading work conditions. Now, nineteen lawmakers have sent a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell urging teams to make right with the cheerleaders.
New York State Senator Diane Savino (D-23), New York State Assemblymember Nily Rozic (the lead sponsor of the Cheerleaders Fair Pay Act), and former cheerleader for the Golden State Warriors (NBA) Lisa Murray talk about their legislation.
Now: did you know NFL cheerleaders don't even earn minimum wage? Discussing with @dianesavino, @nily, + Lisa Murray. pic.twitter.com/ysbYLToXkX
