Noah Hawley on the Influence of "Twin Peaks"

Studio 360 | May 11, 2017

“Fargo” and “Legion” showrunner Noah Hawley thinks David Lynch’s work on “Twin Peaks” has had a profound impact on today’s TV. He knows it’s true in his case, because the show has helped shaped his own approach. As he told Kurt, “I thought a lot about David Lynch, because one of the things that Lynch did — and especially did on "Twin Peaks" —  is he bypassed information. A lot of David Lynch’s most famous moments are disconnected from the story, but they have a sort of horrifying quality to them because we’re not prepared for them. They’re not part of the story.”
