Not the Birds and the Bees, but People. Sex Education
Ben Park describes the program, explaining that the program will be concerned with 12-year-olds and sex education.
Don Herbert talks to one of the boys, who explains some the physiological changes he has undergone. He then speaks with one of the girls, who does the same.
Herbert talks to another girl, who talks about her desire to grow up and her anxiousness about it.
The program shifts to a classroom, where an expert answers questions about sex from the boys. The topics range include pregnancy, the process of childbirth, baldness, and marriage. The expert next answers questions from the girls. They talk about cesareans and Siamese twins.
Park returns to discuss the importance of quality sex education.
They return to expert lecturing to the boys. He explains some of the new feelings that come to young men and women during adolescence - new desires and new internal conflicts.
Herbert interviews some of the boys after their class with the sex expert. The first boy discusses his new-found interest in girls, and how that interest is manifested. He then interviews a pair of girls after their class, who discuss boys' new interest in them.
Park returns to discuss the upcoming episode, which focuses on sex education again - this time dealing with young men and women in their late-teens. There is a small portion of an interview with a young woman who had little interest in sex who was getting divorced at 18 or 19.
