#3804: November 2015 New Releases
It's the most wonderful time of the month - the showcasing of new releases! On this New Sounds program, listen to the pick of the piles, the cream of the crop. John Schaefer separates the wheat from the chaff to present only the finest new and recent releases. Hear a new recording of Brian Eno’s Discreet Music from Toronto-based Ensemble Contact. There’s also ambient music for cello by the composer Christopher Fox which reimagines the cello as a hurdy-gurdy, as played by Anton Lukoszevieze.
Listen to music from the new music/ art-rock percussion trio TIGUE, augmented with production by Kid Millions (Oneida) and contributions from members of Yo La Tengo. Also, listen to music for guitar by Aram Bajakian, inspired by a film, “Color of Pomegranates,” along with music for harp, piano and classical guitar -by the band Powertrio. Plus, listen to Ecuadorian folk-tronica by Nicola Cruz, and a work for piano and electronics by Dmitry Evgrafov. And more.
