Memorial Day weekend marks the kick-off of beach season. We'll talk to Justin Auciello, founder of Jersey Shore Hurricane News and author of the Down the Shore column at WHYY, about how New York City area beaches have fared since Sandy and the ongoing fight over dunes at the Jersey Shore.
When did NJ beaches start charging? Hard to say, says @auciello, but it's a long tradition. His friend has an old beach badge from 1930s.
