NYC Councilmembers Jockey To Become Council Speaker

The race for the second-most powerful position in New York City government is well underway, but unlike the mayoral election, this one isn't in the hands of voters. It’s the contest for City Council speaker, and it’ll be decided by the 51 newly-elected council members. WNYC and Gothamist editor David Cruz explains.
