NYC Schools Launch Monthly Covid Testing Program
WNYC News | Oct 9, 2020
A monthly Covid-19 testing program is starting at all New York City public schools.Â
Students and staff will be tested in batches, between 10 and 20 percent at any given time.
City officials are urging families to sign consent forms. Students who don't agree to Covid testing will be switched to remote instruction.
There haven't been clusters of Covid infections in schools, but there have been positive cases at about 200 of them. Multiple schools have had to close for a day, and two have had to close for two weeks.
