Pascuala Ilabaca y Fauna at David Rubenstein Atrium
March 27. 7:30PM. FREE

The Chilean singer and musician Pascuala Ilabaca writes songs that are rooted in South American tradition, but which also question that tradition – especially when it comes to the place of women in society. She and her all-female band called Fauna have recorded songs like “Por Que Se Fue La Paloma” – or why did the dove leave - that uses the imagery of a bird flying to affirm a woman’s right to leave the nest, and her right to return to it later. Pascuala Ilabaca and her band Fauna play a free show on March 27 at Lincoln Center’s David Rubinstein Atrium.
