Perfume Genius is the stage name of art-pop songwriter Mike Hadreas, who’s spent the last few years creating a queer, genre-crossing mix of mournful ballads, dance-floor bangers, and guitar-heavy rock. The latest album by Perfume Genius, his fifth, is called Set My Heart On Fire Immediately, and given the many moods of his music, this is not the kind of thing he can perform solo in his bedroom. So, on Saturday afternoon, Sep. 19, Perfume Genius, along with a 6-piece band and a string quartet, play a live-streamed concert from LA’s Palace Theater. The performance is in support of Immigration Equality, and for an extra $5 ticket, fans can get access to a bonus acoustic solo performance after the first set.
