Peter Murphy is one of rock’s great showmen. He practically invented the look and sound of goth rock with the band Bauhaus, who back in 1979 recorded that deathless classic, "Bela Lugosi’s Dead". Murphy has also had a long solo career, and now, he’s doing a residency here in New York where he’ll play a different album each night, ending with a greatest hits evening and two nights of tribute to David Bowie. Peter Murphy plays his album Deep on Monday, August 5, as part of his residency at LPR.

This song, "I Spit Roses" is from the album Ninth, which he’ll be doing next Monday night, Aug. 12, at Le Poisson Rouge.
