A Doctor's Journey into L.A.'s Dark Side

Peter Spiegelman's latest novel, Dr. Knox, follows a disgraced physician who, after a failed stint working for a humanitarian organization in the Central African Republic, makes ends meet by making house calls for celebrity and criminal patients unable to seek care elsewhere in Los Angeles. When a young boy is abandoned on his doorstep, Dr. Knox’s attempt to reunite the boy with his parents takes him on a dangerous journey through L.A.’s dangerous underworld.
