Relationships are complicated. Breaking up can be complicated too. In her new breakup song called "Wrong," the artist Alyse Vellturo, who makes sparkling indie pop music under the name pronoun, gets into some complex emotional territory. “now I’m sitting feeling sorry for somebody that i hate and it feels so wrong,” she sings. The name pronoun, she says, reflects the deeply personal nature of her songwriting – pronoun is the side of Vellturo that says things that she never would.

The singer known as pronoun plays tonight at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City.
