Queens' District Attorney Hopefuls Debate the Issues

The seven candidates competing for the Democratic nomination for Queens District Attorney in this month’s primary join Brian and his co-moderator Christine Chung, Queens reporter at The City, to debate the issues in the race and how they envision the role of the district attorney. The candidates are:
- Queens borough president Melinda Katz
- Jose Nieves, combat veteran and former deputy chief in the New York State Attorney General’s office
- Greg Lasak, former Queens prosecutor and retired New York State Supreme Court JusticeÂ
- Tiffany Cabán, a public defender
- Betty Lugo, former Nassau County assistant district attorney, now in private practice
- Mina Malik, former prosecutor in Queens and Washington, lecturer at Harvard Law School and former executive director of the Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB)
- Queens City Councilman Rory Lancman (24th District)
