Quicksilver at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall

We know the city of Venice as one of the centers of Italian cultural life – the city of canals and gondolas and this composer, Vivaldi. But Venice was an independent republic for centuries, known as La Serenissima – the most serene republic of Venice. Carnegie Hall has been celebrating that history with a series of concerts that continues tonight with the early music group known as Quicksilver, playing the famous and lesser-known composers from this city-state. The band Quicksilver will play Vivaldi’s Variations on La Follia and a lot more Venetian music tonight at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall.
