Reporting 9/11: Journalists Remember Attacks

WNYC News | Sep 11, 2015

In the new exhibit "Journalists and 9/11: Reporting on Trauma," reporters remember the images and sounds of the September 11th terrorist attacks and the uncharted territory they faced in sensitively gathering news that was both local and global to the public.

"We picked the theme of journalism and 9/11 because we think a lot about memory and how the public memory of 9/11 is shaped," said Meriam Lobel, curator of the 9/11 Tribute Center. "But we really don't know very much about the people who created all of those iconic memories."

Lobel spoke to WNYC's Jami Floyd.
