Resonant Bodies Festival at Roulette, Sept. 11-13
Tickets: $20-25. Shows at 7:30 pm each night.

In 2013, Caroline Shaw won the Pulitzer Prize for Music, despite being largely unknown and only 30 years old. But her music, performed by the vocal group called Roomful of Teeth, is a bewitching blend of open harmonies, the type you hear in old American folk music, with minimalist repetition and a host of unusual vocal techniques borrowed from traditions around the world. Caroline Shaw is one of the composers performing in this year's Resonant Bodies Festival. RBF was "founded to catalyze the creation of new vocal music, to expand the audience for new vocal music, and to challenge and transform the role of the vocal recitalist."

Caroline Shaw is one of the composers performing in the Resonant Bodies Festival, night two, which also features Nathalie Joachim and Jen Shyu. The festival runs Tuesday-Thursday night, at Roulette in Brooklyn.
