The Dark History of Police Interrogation, and Its Radical Future

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jun 15, 2016

Investigative journalist Robert Kolker examines the checkered history of the police interrogation, which used to include torture, and now includes coercion and lying. His latest story for the June issue of WIRED, “A Severed Head, Two Cops, and the Radical Future of Interrogation,” is a collaboration between the magazine and The Marshall Project. He found that a new wave of interrogation is coming - one that comes from an unlikely source, and one that is using unlikely methods.
