Robert Moses Reminisces of Bill O'Dwyer

The NYPR Archive Collections | Jan 1, 2000

Robert Moses reports about his experiences with Mayor Bill O'Dwyer. Moses says that he liked O'Dwyer. A reporter asks Moses if O'Dwyer is the last of the Irish politicians? Moses says that he doesn't think there is an end to the kind of rags to riches immigrant stories that the city has seen. Moses says that O'Dwyer wasn't a man of no education, which was something that some people thought of the mayor. Moses says that O'Dwyer would put on the Irish brogue every so often - but that's what politicians do.
