Romney Takes Jab at Cuomo on Astorino's Behalf

WNYC News | Oct 13, 2014

Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor who ran an unsuccessful campaign against President Obama in 2012, is asking New Yorkers to choose Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino over incumbent Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the race for governor.

Astorino has been trailing behind Cuomo, who is seeking re-election and has a healthy 20 to 30 point lead in various polls. Both Cuomo and Astorino marched in Monday’s Columbus Day Parade in Manhattan.

Romney, in a letter to New York voters, criticized Cuomo’s record, saying New York's economy has suffered under his leadership. When asked about Romney, Cuomo said New Yorkers have already rejected him.
