Jazz singer Sachal Vasandani has a way of not just covering old standards, but reinventing them. His version of Nat King Cole’s “Unforgettable” has become a signature tune, but he’s also found his way to the music of Billie Eilish, Peter Gabriel, and more. Vasandani is also a songwriter, and his new album, Best Life Now, is largely a collection of his own songs, incorporating the sounds of funk and R&B as well as jazz.
