Salman Rushdie talks about his new novel, Two Years, Eight Months, and Twenty-Eight Nights. Centuries ago, Dunia, a princess of the jinn, fell in love with a mortal man of reason. Together they produced an astonishing number of children, who spread through generations across the world. After a storm strikes New York City, the strange, supernatural nature of this lineage begins to show itself.
