Shining a spotlight on National Eating Disorder Awareness week with a New York City expert

National Eating Disorder Awareness week turns the spotlight onto the many disorders that fall under the eating disorder spectrum. Research from Harvard University estimates that about 28.8 million Americans will suffer from an eating disorder in their lifetime, which are among the most fatal mental illnesses.

Doctor Evelyn Attia directs the Center for Eating Disorders at New York-Presbyterian. She joined WNYC's Michael Hill to talk about the illnesses.
