Shootings Continue Over the Weekend As NYPD Launches Gun Violence Initiative

In response to a surge in shootings, the NYPD has shifted more patrol and community affairs officers to target neighborhoods, such as Harlem and South Jamaica, Queens. It is also organizing gun buy-back events and working with violence prevention groups in areas suffering from increased gun violence.
