Sinkane- "Dépaysé" (Weekly Music Roundup)

Sinkane is the name used by the Sudanese-American singer Ahmed Gallab for his musical projects. Sinkane mixes western funk, Sudanese folk music, and, on his new song "Dépaysé", a bit of 60s psychedelia as well. The song title is a French word that means being taken out of your homeland, being dislocated. It’s a song about the immigrant experience, and its challenges. But Sinkane’s call-and-response vocals suggest he remains optimistic. Hear Sinkane's new song, "Dépaysé" and watch its swirly psychedelic video as part of our Weekly Music Roundup.
