The New York band Slavic Soul Party plays Balkan-style brass band music – usually here in their hometown, and most often at the tiny Brooklyn club called Barbes. But this weekend, they’ll be several hours north of here, because Barbes is bringing some of its favorite groups, like the Colombian-New Yorkers of Combo Chimbita and the Afrobeat-flavored band Antibalas, to a farm in Western Massachusetts for a marathon event called Barbes In The Woods. The "quintessential backyard festival" takes place on Saturday, August 17 at Bartlett Farm in Massachusetts for a marathon concert, with both full-day and evening tickets, along with a chartered bus to get there.
