"Sound Garden" at The Morris Museum
Gig Alerts | Nov 22, 2018
Composer John Morton has done some pretty unusual projects over the years. His "Sound Garden" at the Morris Museum includes two sound installations. One, called "The Voyage Out," is for three music boxes. This one, "Fever Songs," is built on the sounds of sacred music from traditions around the world. The sounds are controlled by a motion sensor, so as you walk through the space, your movements change the mix of sounds; in effect, you’re the conductor.
That’s an excerpt from "Fever Songs" by John Morton. It’s part of his "Sound Garden," which also includes the Charles Darwin-themed sound installation, "The Voyage Out." It’s up and running at the Morris Museum in NJ. It runs through February 24, 2019.
