The State Budget in the Suburbs
New York State Senators Todd Kaminsky (D 9, Nassau County) and David Carlucci (D 38, Rockland County) talk about their priorities for the budget.
"Today we had two more cases, we’re up to 155 cases. This is the worst outbreak we’ve seen in this country since the measles was eradicated back in 2000," says @DavidCarlucci on Rockland County's ban on unvaccinated minors from schools. "We have to govern by the science."

"Last year was the worst on-time record for LIRR in 19 years. People are packed into cars every day… all while being asked to pay more. I think we need to make a commensurate investment in the LIRR to make this work," says @toddkaminsky on congestion pricing.

"For a county executive race or a statewide race, a wealthy couple can raise $100,000…. When people wonder why there are access problems, and I think this is true all over the country, I think campaign finance and public financing is a good solution to that," says @toddkaminsky.

"A decent analogy of the budget, it’s like an old horror movie, you’re not sure who is alive or dead until the end of the movie, and what you thought may be dead is not dead," says @toddkaminsky on NYS budget deadline on April 1st.
