Susie Ibarra: Talking Gong with Claire Chase and Alex Peh at Roulette (IN PERSON, Live Stream)
Wed., June 9. 8PM EDT. $25.

Talking Gong is a trio, led by drummer and composer Susie Ibarra, whose music has in the past incorporated everything from the sounds of Filipino kulintang music to downtown-style free jazz. Talking Gong is a collaboration with the award-winning flutist Claire Chase and the pianist Alex Peh. The music was written while Ibarra was composer in residence at SUNY New Paltz, but now she and the trio are ready to play it downstate here at Roulette for a limited audience, but it’ll be streamed as well at 8PM on Wed., June 9.
