Suss at Mercury Lounge, Friday, Feb. 15
Tickets: $12-15. Doors at 6:30 pm. Show at 7 pm.

The band called Suss lives at the unexpected juncture of ambient electronics and country western twang. Actually, if you think about it, the spaghetti western film scores of Ennio Morricone and the ambient music experiments of Brian Eno have something quite basic in common – they both occupy a place we think of as background, but both refuse to stay there. Suss uses mandolin, pedal steel, synthesizer and guitars to create music that similarly blurs the distinction between foreground and background. The post-country, ambient Americana, boot-gazing, psychedelic group Suss who might be the missing link between Brian Eno and Ennio Morricone, plays Friday, Feb. 15 at Mercury Lounge.
