Sussan Deyhim at Roulette
Nov. 12. 8PM. $20-$30.

The Persian-American singer, composer, and multimedia artist Sussan Deyhim has long explored the intersection of traditional Iranian music and hi-tech Western electronics. Her piece The House Is Black was inspired by the poems and films of Forough Farrokhzad, who died over 50 years ago at the age of 32, but has become a feminist icon for the women of Iran. It’s one of many works she’s made with her late partner Richard Horowitz, and part of her new show that serves as a memorial for him. Sussan Deyhim and an all-star cast of musical friends perform on Nov. 12 at Roulette in Brooklyn.
