Tanya Tucker at Bowery Ballroom

Tanya Tucker at Bowery Ballroom, Tues., Sept. 17
Tickets: $45. 18+. Show at 7 pm.

Think of so-called Outlaw Country music, and you probably think of guys like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, and Willie Nelson. But it wasn’t just guys who were country music outlaws. Tanya Tucker started as a country pop star with her hit song “Delta Dawn” back in 1972, when she was 13. But she added a harder rock edge to her songs, and had a personal life that was always tabloid fodder. If, as she sings in this recent song, she’s had hard luck, at least some of it was of her own making, and she’s owning it. Tanya Tucker plays Tues., Sept. 17, at the Bowery Ballroom.
