The Western Wind and Hesperus

The Western Wind and Hesperus joins host Robert Sherman in a program of holiday music. Works include a set of 15th century Sephardic Hanukkah songs, three settings of Ma'oz Tzur, a set of Hebrew and Yiddish Hanukkah songs, Of a Rose by Robert Dennis, an Incan flute tune, three works from the partbooks of Francisco Guerrero, the West Virginian fiddle tune Breaking Up Christmas, and I Saw Three Ships.

The program, sponsored by Marine Midland Bank, was recorded at the New York Times Auditorium before a studio audience.
