A Top NY Democrat Calls on Cuomo to Resign Over Sexual Misconduct Allegations

New York Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart Cousins issued a statement on Sunday that said Governor Cuomo must resign. The statement came a couple of hours after Cuomo reiterated during a press briefing that he would not step down, despite two more women coming forward over the weekend to accuse him of sexual misconduct. I total of five women have now accused Cuomo of misconduct in the workplace.

"There is no way I resign. Let's do the [state] attorney general investigation, let's get the findings and then we'll go from there," he said.

During the press briefing, Cuomo was asked again about lawmakers calling for his resignation.

"There is politics in politics," he responded.

Cuomo said he will not be distracted and is focused on reaching a budget deal by the state's April 1st deadline.
