Tribeca: 'Takeover'

All Of It with Alison Stewart | Jun 10, 2021

Filmmaker Emma Francis-Snyder joins us to discuss making the documentary short, "Takeover," which premieres at the Tribeca Festival on June 11. The film tells the story of how the activist group, the Young Lords, took over a hospital in the South Bronx on July 14, 1970, to advocate for high-quality medical access for all. The film is executive produced by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage and features archival footage filmed during the takeover. Francis-Snyder will be joined by one of the film's subjects, Juan Gonzalez.
