Two More Resignations at Troubled Thruway Authority

WNYC News | Jan 1, 2015

Two more of the state Thruway Authority’s top officials have resigned. A spokesman confirmed to WNYC that Executive Director Tom Madison and Chief Financial Officer John Bryan stepped down on Wednesday.

In early December, the authority's chair, Howard Milstein, also resigned.

The Thruway has been under scrutiny for posting a 27 million dollar budget shortfall and for plans for a toll hike.

In addition to operating the Thruway, the authority is in charge of rebuilding the Tappan Zee Bridge. The Cuomo Administration has faced criticism for the project for failing to disclose whether a toll increase will help finance the new bridge.
