Why President Obama Had a U.S. Citizen Killed by Drone
Scott Shane, who has extensively covered terrorism for The New York Times, discusses his book, Objective Troy: A Terrorist, a President, and the Rise of the Drone. The title refers to the military code name used for Anwar al-Awlaki, an American citizen who became a prominent jihadi terrorist and was eventually hunted down and killed by a drone strike overseas. The book draws a parallel between Awlaki and President Obama. They come from eerily similar backgrounds, but took extremely alternate routes in life.
EVENT: On September 29, Scott Shane will be speaking at Fordham Law School at 6:00 P.M. located at 150 West 62nd Street, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10023.
