The Unique Quartette is thought to be the first African American quartet ever to make records, beginning in the 1890s. Newly revealed recordings from the group make up the album, Celebrated, 1895-1896, which is nominated for a Grammy in the Best Historical Album category. Producers and co-owners of Archeophone Records Richard Martin and Meagan Hennessey join us to talk about their compilation and the history of the group.
