Patrick Sharkey, professor and chair of the Department of Sociology at New York University, scientific director of Crime Lab New York, and the author of Uneasy Peace: The Great Crime Decline, the Renewal of City Life, and the Next War on Violence (W. W. Norton & Company, 2018) talks about how violent crime fell in American cities and what lies ahead.
