Jaime Lerner, an architect and planner who served three terms as mayor of Curitiba, Brazil and two terms as governor of the State of Paraná, now the author of Urban Acupuncture (Island Press, 2014), focuses on the transformative ideas, that don't have to be large-scale, that result in more livable cities.  Bus Rapid Transit was started in Curitiba and is now in 126 cities around the world, including NYC.
